Serum Metabolic Biomarkers of Liver Failure after Liver Resection

چکیده

Introduction: Even the combination of PT and total bilirubin, known for being most reliable predictive conventional markers shows low sensitivity. Therefore we need to find more relevant biomarkers liver failure after resection focused on metabolites. Method: A 20 pigs were divided into 3 groups sham operation (n=6), 70% hepatectomy group (n=7), 90% (n=7). Blood sampling was performed preoperatively at 1, 6, 14, 30, 38, 48 hours systematically profiled 129 primary metabolites based gas-chromatography time-of-flight mass spectrometry. Results: Orthogonal projection latent structures-discriminant analysis revealed that central carbon metabolism significant factor in liver-resection contrast groups. Subsequent binary logistic regression used develop a model risk mortality following hepatectomy. The recommended variables malic acid, methionine, tryptophan, glucose, γ-aminobutyric acid. AUC linear 5 1.000 (95% confidence interval: 0.940-1.000, sensitivity: 100.0, specificity: 94.87) Conclusions: Systematic prioritization OPLS-DA proposed robust biomarker panels can accurately predict associated with

Case scenario: postoperative liver failure after liver resection in a cirrhotic patient.

H EPATIC resection for malignant liver tumors improves overall survival. However, liver surgery continues to be associated with significant morbidity and mortality. A combination of careful patient selection, meticulous operative technique and specialized perioperative care is required to achieve low perioperative mortality (less than 5%) even in cases of hepatocellular carcinoma resections in ...

Accuracy of Hepatobiliary Scintigraphy after Liver Transplantation and Liver Resection

Background and Aims. Biliary complications are the most frequent complications after common liver surgeries. In this study, accuracy of hepatobiliary scintigraphy (HBS) and impact of hyperbilirubinemia were evaluated. Methods. Between November 2007 and February 2016, 131 patients underwent hepatobiliary scintigraphy after having liver surgery. 39 patients with 42 scans after LTX (n = 13) or hep...

Urinary trypsin inhibitor attenuates liver enzyme elevation after liver resection

BACKGROUND Urinary trypsin inhibitors (UTI) have been widely used for the treatment of diseases including disseminated intravascular coagulation, shock, and pancreatitis. Since UTI synthesis is likely to be reduced in patients who have undergone liver resection, the incidence of inflammatory reactions may be increasing accordingly. For such patients, the liver enzyme increases after the operati...
